Course Overview:
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of confidentiality within dental practice settings, examining both the ethical and legal frameworks that govern the handling of patient information. This course explores GDC standards, UK legislation (including the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR), common law principles, and everyday scenarios in which confidentiality must be upheld. Practical guidance is also provided on managing breaches and embedding effective confidentiality practices into day-to-day operations.

- To raise awareness of the importance of confidentiality in dental settings.
- To ensure all dental team members understand their legal and professional responsibilities.
- To promote best practices for protecting patient data in accordance with GDC guidance and UK legislation.
